i think its because theres a time reset around the middle of the game. the story of the game is supposed to go in a certain way. think of it as gods will. he has it all planned out and all he needs is the people to do what is in his plan. well in the first half things dont go according to plan. some people dont die like how theyre supposed to. some people dont die when they should. some people die when they shouldnt. etc etc. well in the first half sam monroe dies and becomes a shibito. im assuming he then connects to the hive mind and kind of knows everything that they know such as amana being bella.
well the gods are like Wait whut? thats not right. so they reverse time and it goes again. but. everyone regains their memorys of the echoed chain of events. so amana. who helped howard in the begining because she didnt know who he was. now knows that hes a threat to the new gods order so she goes after him now.
